Introducing the dulcet tones of Aaron Taylor

New track 'Be My Muse' taken From debut album ‘Icarus' released next month

QUIET STORM: Aaron Taylor

BE MY Muse’ is the new single from neo-soul star Aaron Taylor and the third track to be revealed from his upcoming debut album ICARUS, due for release independently in September.

The track arrives in line with the announcement that Aaron has been selected as one of Virgin Money’s Emerging Stars for 2020.

The single, the most upbeat to be released so far, is the perfect soundtrack for Summer with its irresistible, funky groove and aligns Aaron with contemporaries such as Anderson .Paak, Thundercat and Hiatus Kaiyote, showcasing his innate musicality and knack for seamlessly blending styles together.

“This is a playful song about the inspiration a woman provides through their intrinsic beauty and character,” Taylor enthused.

The subject matter naturally lent itself to the throwback 90s type of R&B production I often heard growing up, which was a lot of fun to make.

“With lockdown easing now, I like to imagine it working well as a sound for our summer.”

With tens of millions of streams to his name and a sold out pre lockdown show at London’s Jazz Café, Aaron is already making a mark as one of the most exciting neo-soul artists around.

‘ICARUS’, his highly anticipated debut album was recorded in Taylor’s own studio at home.

“It’s just a little humble room – I’ve still got one of my wardrobes in there” and is a record about intimacy in its various forms.

“It’s about wanting to be closer to someone or something – possibly even at your peril,” reveals Taylor.

The 11 tracks about desire and longing in relationships, career and spirituality now seem somewhat bittersweet after the age of social distancing.

“It’s really weird,” comments Taylor of the uncanny timing. “It’ll resonate so much more.”
