SHEREECE STORROD, artistic Director of Black Voices, is receiving a RSL (Rock School) Awards Fellowship.

The fellowship is the highest honour that the organisation gives people, and it recognises those that have inspired students.

Shereece said: “I’m completely overwhelmed and immensely blessed to receive this RSL fellowship award.

“Rock School played an important role in my early musical development, it’s an amazing feeling to know that lil old Shereece from Birmingham is being acknowledged and that rock school is still going 30 years strong.”

Norton Yorke, who founded the school has followed and supported Shereece’s musical career for over 20 years. He presented her with the award at Grosvenor Road Studios.

The studios are the oldest recording in Birmingham and are also the home of Black Voices.

Norton Yorke said: “We are thrilled to be awarding an Honorary Fellowship to Shereece Storrod for the exceptional work she is doing with Black Voices, and as the first female recipient, this feels incredibly special!”
