AWARD WINNING journalist Charlene White has been named as a new panellist on ITV show Loose Women.
The former BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra presenter stepped in as a guest panellist in 2020 and will be taking a permanent seat at the desk this month.
Her appointment follows the departure of Andrea McLean who was the show’s main anchor.
Speaking to the Voice Online, stand up comedian and online sensation Judi Love, who appeared alongside White on Loose Women last year, said the appointment was great news.
“I’m so excited for Charlene. She’s been a great addition to the team and brings a lovely new energy to the show. Looking forward to being on the panel with her again soon especially as we made history together in the all black panel in October.”
At ITV White is lead presenter of ITV News London, and a regular presenter of Evening News. She’s also the first black woman to present ITV News At Ten.
The mother of two has presented several documentaries for the “Tonight” and “On Assignment” strands.
She was also part of the presenting team for the ITV’s 2018 Royal Wedding programme.
Having joined the Loose Women team as an occasional host in the past her loyal army of fans will be excited to see their favourite broadcaster in a different capacity on a regular basis.
