‘GET RICH N Get Paid’ follows on from Poundz’ current feature on Disturbing London’s monster single ‘Drip’, featuring Ivorian Doll and fellow label alumni Tinie and Yxng Bane.

The song is all about showing progression and growth as it takes us on a journey from a young boy being poor and chasing his dream, to becoming a professional musician and getting rich

Demonstrating his exceptional capabilities as a rapper on his new single, ‘Get Rich N Get Paid’ continues to map out his artist evolution.

Exploding on to the scene, Poundz scored an Official UK Top 40, reaching certified silver sales on ‘Opp Thot’. Evolving into a breakthrough act for 2020 his musical direction began to blur the lines of specific genres and his career has spiraled upwards ever since thanks to records including ‘Smooth Criminal’ and ‘Tik Tok’, and featuring on a string of major hits including S1mba’s ‘Rover Remix, ‘Freaky’ alongside Swarmz and Dappy and most recently Miss LaFamilia’s ‘Dumb Flex’ Remix building a surging fanbase and demand.

With echoes of his driller roots seeping into elements of his delivery, ‘Get Rich N Get Paid’ has a melodic, rap essence with it.

The softer bassline, heavy string section and the pace of the instrumental makes way for a new lyrical dimension to Poundz, and whilst his explorative musicality has become more prevalent in recent drops, this latest single is on a noticeably different level.

Providing an introspective glance at his motivation, Poundz explains: “The song is all about showing progression and growth as it takes us on a journey from a young boy being poor and chasing his dream, to becoming a professional musician and getting rich, even when you feel like quitting keep going. The message is that hard work pays off, what you put in is what you get out.”

The release comes alongside a cinematic visual shot by Eric Myers, premiered by GRM Daily. Featuring cutaways of Poundz performing to camera as he narrates the visual, the storyline follows an aspiring rapper and the drawbacks he faces trying to follow his passion.

In a departure from his usual role in the limelight, creating dance crazes and packing his infectious, fun-loving personality into his videos, Poundz takes on a role which highlights his versatility as both a performer and artist. Teamed with glossy edits and slick transitions that create an emotive short film, ‘Get Rich N Get Paid’ accentuates the deeper lyricism and impressive expansion to Poundz.
