Dancehall icon Sean Paul inducted into Pandora’s Billionaire Club

The Dancehall star was given a surprise presentation in his hometown of Kingston, Jamaica, to celebrate his 1.7 billion streams to date on the streaming platform.

Dancehall icon Sean Paul has been inducted into the Pandora’s Billionaire Club after he surpassed a billion streams on the music platform.

The Dancehall star was given a surprise presentation in his hometown of Kingston, Jamaica, to celebrate his 1.7 billion streams to date on the streaming platform.

The international superstar has joined the elite list of Pandora Billionaires, which includes Kirk Franklin, Johnny Cash, John Legend, Fleetwood Mac and many more.

Paul thanked Pandora for the recognition and acknowledged his fans for helping him to reach this historic career milestone.

“Thank You Pandora for recognising me on this great achievement and taking the time out to come to my hometown and present me with this great plaque,” he said. “To my fans, thank you we did it together and let’s continue to Scorch dem.”

Paul currently has 1.9 million monthly listeners on Pandora.   His international crossover album Dutty Rock is ranked as his top album on the platform.

In addition to the Pandora plaque, Paul will now also be added to Pandora’s Pop Billionaires and R&B Billionaires stations.

Paul is one of Jamaica’s best-selling artists and has performed in over 120 countries, at some of the biggest venues around the world. Since his emergence in the mid-1990s, he has maintained a dominance in the music industry and has won multiple awards. He has been the recipient of an American Music Award, MOBO Awards, Soul Train Awards, MTV Music Awards, a BET Award and many others.

He is the only Jamaican artist to have won an American Music Award for Favourite Pop/Rock Male artist, which he won in 2006.

Paul recently released a new album entitled Live N Livin, which is his first full-length album released on his own label, Dutty Rock Productions.

Live N Livin is his seventh studio album and includes appearances from some of the biggest names in Reggae and Dancehall music, including Buju Banton, Mavado, Busy Signal and Agent Sasco.

Paul is currently gearing up for the release of his highly-anticipated eighth album, which is scheduled for release in mid-August.

The new album is entitled Scorcher and will feature some high-profile collaborations with Stylo G and Damian Marley rumoured to feature on the project.

Paul scored his first major hit in the UK in 2002 and has over 20 UK Top 40 singles to his name, including two UK Number 1s and 13 singles that have reached within the UK Top 10.
