Travis Jay ready to embrace a new way

Comedian and writer brings brand new show to London's Soho Theatre

TRAVIS JAY says he done with playing it ‘safe’ and promises his next show is ‘going to be a wild one’.

Following his sell-out show at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre last year and a critically acclaimed Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 2019, Travis brings his brand-new show, Travis Jay: Son Of David, to London’s Soho Theatre, Downstairs for a week-long run from June 21-25, at 9.00pm.

This show promises to be his most raw and honest one yet as he takes an introspective look at his life after experiencing therapy and compares his childhood to his fatherhood.

He told the Voice: “I’m so excited for people to see ‘Son of David’, this is me kissing goodbye to playing it safe.

“This is my most raw and unfiltered show yet, I touch on my first experience with Therapy, my relationship with my father, Recently getting married, Will Smith and much more… It’s going to be a wild one.”

Going from strength to strength, Travis has had a busy few years writing for the revival of the classic hit show Spitting Image, with recent TV appearances including Black, British and Funny, The Stand Up Sketch Show, Late Night Mash (Dave), Drunk History and The Artists.

Travis has supported Dave Chappelle on his Sticks & Stones London tour and Britain’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer winner Kojo Anim on his nationwide Taxi tour, as well as performing alongside Katherine Ryan, Jon Richardson, Rob Delaney and Russell Howard.

If you haven’t checked it out Travis is also the creator and co-presenter of the popular weekly boxing podcast Undefeated, with fellow comedian KG tha Comedian.

Glad to be back in business following a challenging lockdown, he enthused: “These past couple of years for me have been a real rollercoaster, not being able to work in live shows really affected me mentally but ultimately it forced me to figure out different ways to work.

“So, I’m thankful for that, but it was a tough time. I’m just glad we can get back to going outside and having fun again.”
