Could classroom pressure lead to suicide?

Black-British female film director releases short for Anti-Bulling Week

DISMISSED IS the latest instalment from A Scott Productions.

A social impact film that explores the critical signs of young suicide and bully-victims overlooked in the classroom.

Written, directed and produced by Aysha Scott, the film stars Cindy Humphrey as Mrs Armstrong, a compassionate catholic teacher. Armstrong panics when she finds a suicide note in her classroom and attempts to discover the vulnerable pupil.

This poignant short weaves elements of tension with intrigue derived from overheard conversations amongst teenage girls in a classroom setting.

A character-driven film, with a female, led cast and crew, DISMISSED was created to tackle the issues school children can identify with cinematically.

With praise, and critical acclaim from The Cannes Film Festival and British Urban Film Festival (BUFF), Dismissed is slated for online release on November 18, 2020 during this year’s Anti-Bullying week – November 16-20.

Distribution of the film will be via First Focus International (FFI), with a movie inspired playlist available on Spotify.
