Lovelle is smooth and unapologetic on soulful release

Rising south-east Londoner is making a name for herself

SONGSTRESS: RnB singer Lovelle unveils the perfect teaser from her forthcoming EP release

AFTER CAPTURING the attention of many with 2019’s “Is That What They Call It” EP, the vulnerable release ‘Broken’, plus a stunning collaboration alongside Swiss producer and filmmaker Pablo Nouvelle with ‘Prelude’, RnB songstress Lovelle delivers another smooth and profound offering with ‘Beggin’’.

Acting as the perfect teaser for her forthcoming EP “Therapy”, the rising South-East London artist teams up with fellow artists and songwriters Maths Time Joy (Mahalia), and J Warner (Mahalia, Snoh Aalegra, Sinead Harnett) and the result is an original and uncompromising sound tackling a relatable topic for many.

Speaking on the track, Lovelle said: “’Beggin’ is about staying in a relationship because you think it’s the right thing to do; the constant complaints and arguing and sacrificing the things that make you happy, because of someone else.

“The partner isn’t happy either but begs to stay with you, creating a mess no one really wanted. It’s a smart, witty, sexy and unapologetic song.”

Priding herself on her honest and ‘no where is off limits’ approach to songwriting, paired with the faultless beauty of her voice and transparent and direct lyricism, Lovelle offers a refreshing and unique addition to today’s scene, with her modern yet timeless sound.

Owing her confidence and dedicated attitude to her craft in part to attending the Mick Jagger Theatre and Sylvia Young Theatre School, her natural aesthetic has also seen modellin and endorsement opportunities present themselves for iconic brands incl. Adidas, Nike, Reebok, and Pretty Little Thing, an avenue which has also seen Lovelle excel.

With early support for her music coming in from key tastemakers, radio support from BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Ace, Trevor Nelson, Twin B and DJ Target, not to mention performing alongside the likes of heavyweight talents The Script, Miguel and Becky Hill, there’s no sign of slowing down anytime soon for this rising artist, as she stands firm as one to watch for the foreseeable.
