ONE ACEN has unveiled the official video to new single ‘Nigeria’ featuring CallMeTheKidd, which forms some of his first new material of 2020 so far.
Directed by Shan Phearon and shot through different lenses with a raft of Matrix-style visual effects, the video sees One Acen stave off a potential home invasion, fighting off fictional enemies as he moves from room to room.
‘Nigeria’ is lifted from a long-awaited forthcoming new project due later this summer and sees Acen collaborate with fellow artist-on-the-rise CallMeTheKidd, paying homage to his Nigerian heritage for the first time.
It forms an absorbing and thoughtful primer for a record shaping up to be Acen’s most definitive and impactful yet, following 2019 singles ‘Miss Diva’ ft. Yungen and ‘Xpensive Habits’, which also saw an official remix featuring JME, Ghetts and Chip drop on Christmas Day.
A prolific collaborator, Acen also scored his second UK Top 40 single in 2019 after featuring on Darkoo’s ‘Gangsta’, which peaked at #22 on the OCC.
It formed the latest in a slew of collaborations with the likes of Hardy Caprio (‘Best Life’ peaked at #26 in 2018), WSTRN, Tion Wayne and Yungen over the last three years, all of which have marked Acen out as a gifted lyricist with a flair for writing melodic and infectious records.
