Nadirah X gets deep and emotive on latest track

LAST YEAR Nadirah X brought two cuts in the shape of her first release the anthemic Nobody’s Coming featuring the vocal prowess of Olaf Blackwood followed by the second release and the slightly dark Brainstorm featuring Chali 2NA from Jurassic 5.

In ‘Let Love Surround You’, her third release, Nadirah, and duo Bosaya (Galina Bosaya and Vadim Zariuta), bring a deeply emotive vibe.

Produced by Ned Douglas, down-tempo yet rousing vibes are blessed by a stupendous ethereal hook and chorus by Bosaya.

In turn, that ethereal energy is accentuated by a simple but wonderfully shot video directed by Cindy Gomez and shot by Vadim Zariuta.

Speaking to the Voice about the track Nadirah X said: “Let love surround you encapsulates, a spiritual journey, a realignment so to speak. It’s of course about love, finding peace and self love, and wanting to hold on to it. It’s about healing spiritually and emotionally while being both strong and vulnerable during the process.“

After winning numerous accolades and awards in her home of Jamaica, Nadirah (aka Nadz) moved to Los Angeles where she has continued to shine. Her debut album INK was released in Europe via Magic records Poland.

The single ‘Here it Comes’ (featuring Eurythmics sample Here Comes The Rain Again 1983) landed at number nine on the top-most played songs in Poland among other charts across Europe.

She is the only rapper to have written and performed with the legendary Annie Lennox (on her solo album Songs Of Mass Destruction) Their song Womankind is featured in the movie The Women.

She has written and performed with Mick Jagger on the Golden Globe award-winning score to the feature film Alfie.

Nadirah has also produced two books of poetry with forewords and introductions from Deepak Chopra, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Tim Kring (creator of Heroes TV show), and Bruce Rubin (writer of the acclaimed movie Ghost).

She is currently working with luminaries of the hip hop world including Charli 2na (Jurassic5), Bishop Lamont (Aftermath) and Ant Live.
