Spotify couples up with ITV to create official Love Island playlist

Fans can find the ‘Sounds of Love Island’ series 6 on the official playlist

SPOTIFY HAS coupled up with ITV on an exclusive partnership to give Love Island fans a single destination for the music played on the latest series of the show.

The hotly anticipated series six launches this January 12, at 9pm on ITV2 and is once again set to attract viewers in their millions. And while the soon-to-be revealed singletons entering the villa this weekend can only hope to find their perfect match, fans tuning in are guaranteed to find the Sounds of Love Island on the world’s largest audio streaming platform.

Tracks played during Love Island, being broadcast from South Africa for the first time ever, will be available on the show’s official playlist – only on Spotify. The Sounds of Love Island playlist means that everyone falling in love with the music featured throughout the series can discover any given track and enjoy quality time with their favourites.

The playlist goes live after the first episode has aired this Sunday and songs will be added from each episode throughout the series. Whether travelling to work, having a night in with friends or throwing your very own Love Island party, the playlist is sure to brighten the cold Winter days and nights.

Olga Puzanova, UK/IE Head of Consumer Marketing, Spotify says: “We know how much the British public take Love Island to their hearts: the show is set to be the hot topic this new year, guaranteed to be filling up our feeds and phones and at the heart of conversations in the office, at home, and out with friends over the coming weeks. Our relationship with ITV for series six is a perfect partnership; our official playlist celebrates the huge volume of love for the show and gives viewers a single destination for enjoying all the Sounds of Love Island.”

Love Island is ITV2’s most successful show in the channel’s history and attracted 4.2m viewers at launch 2019, with 18.5 per cent of all TV viewers watching the islanders enter the villa. 3.6 million viewers tuned-in to watch Amber and Greg take the 2019 Love Island crown last summer – breaking records to become the show’s most watched final in history.

Simon Daglish, Deputy Managing Director, Commercial for ITV added “We’re thrilled to couple-up with Spotify as the only official destination for the music we’ll be playing on Love Island. We’re sure the millions of viewers tuning-in to series six will be sure to check-out the Sounds of Love Island on Spotify.”
