PARENTS WILL be watching a lot more kids TV than usual at the moment but that’s no hard chore.
In a recent survey, 87 per cent of parents admitted that they are more than happy to sit through their children’s favourite TV shows. It comes as no surprise that for parents the simple pleasure of hearing their child’s laughter makes 99 per cent of them feel instantly happier.

Not only is it good for the body, mind and soul, having a chuckle can be invaluable to mums and dads with 53 per cent finding their kids are better behaved after watching a funny TV show, according to new research from POP.
It also highlights 88 per cent of parents are more likely to watch programmes with their child if they make them laugh, and a whopping 87 per cent of parents admit they genuinely enjoy children’s TV themselves!
Laughter does more than simply lift the spirits, it also helps to forget life’s stresses (71 per cent) and strengthens the bond between parent and child (61%) if they have been laughing at the same thing.
With children having to learn at home, time off from their lessons will be even more valuable as will be distinguishing it from their studies, and thankfully POP’s Eastergram schedule begins today, which is dominated by their funniest favourites such as Trolls: The Beat Goes On, Lego City Adventures and Cupcake & Dino.
Stephanie Davies, founder and CEO of Laughology (the training and development provider which prioritises happiness and engagement across all organisations), is an expert on the science of laughter and has written the book Laughology: Improve Your Life with the Science of Laughter.
Stephanie says “Laughter is the best medicine.
“There’s a host of delightful children’s TV shows that parents can enjoy watching with their young ones, and POP’s recent survey has revealed that parents are still big kids at heart. The humorous storylines and eye-catching animation make for such great entertainment – as long as the adults turn off the TV and stop watching once their offspring have left the room.
“There are a wide range of great shows for young and old to appreciate together that will help crack entertainment over the Easter holidays”.
Easter-gram on POP will be airing all the funniest episodes of all their best loved TV shows over Easter and kids can even have the chance to be featured on air by entering their competition through the POP Fun app.
