I Am Not Your Negro

In 1979, James Baldwin wrote a letter to his literary agent describing his next project, "Remember This House." The book was to be a revolutionary, personal account of the lives and assassinations of three of his close friends: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. At the time of Baldwin's death in 1987, he left behind only 30 completed pages of this manuscript.

BBC2: I Am Not Your Negro

RAOUL PECK’S BAFTA winning and Oscar nominated documentary I Am Not Your Negro, which follows James Baldwin’s history of the black experience in America, will be broadcast on BBC Two on June 20 at 9pm.

Told entirely in the words of Baldwin, through both personal appearances and the text of his final unfinished book project, I Am Not Your Negro touches on the lives and assassinations of Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., and Medgar Evers.
