South London’s Peckham Levels kick off 2020 presenting it’s fresh January programme of events

Peckham Levels Beer Festival, Movimentos, Fireball Sessions, Bizzie Bodies Project, Cozy Chorus, Word Of Mouth and more.

PECKHAM LEVELS are kicking off the new decade with a bang, unleashing a jam-packed programme for the month of January with a rich mix of events from music to craft to fitness.

Bizzie Bodies will be offering an abundance of free creative activities for children in a Community Workspace take-over (Sunday 19th) giving young children aged between 8 to 11 years access to have a go at 3D Printing, 3D Design, Virtual Reality, Coding, Robotics, Electronics and Craft. Bizzie Bodies aims to facilitate social inclusion in multicultural societies, and provide opportunities for children who would otherwise have minimal access to creative learning outside of their school education.

In partnership with The Crow’s Nest & Lady Godiva, Peckham Levels are proud to present the return of The Peckham Levels Beer Festival (Saturday 25th) after their successful debut in 2019. A celebration of Southwark-based, independent beer, each brewery will have their own stall serving some of their favourite small batch beers at discounted prices. As the 25th is also Burns Night, Lady Godiva will be providing a free shot of Scottish whiskey to the first 50 to buy tickets for the festival.

Artist showcase series Cozy Chorus (Thursday 23rd) will be hosting up-and-coming British RnB/Soul Singer Kadeem Tyrell for an evening event at Peckham Levels. Born and raised in Battersea, Kadeem is making waves in the UK Music scene. His music epitomises the alternative sound that is currently on the rise, described as soothing alternative soul and effortless RnB. The following day Movimentos (Friday 24th) will return to Peckham Levels bringing authentic Latin American vibes in the shape of Nirk Molina & The UK Vallenato All Stars who will be playing heavyweight Colombian-Caribbean dance music with some of the finest Latin musicians in the London scene.

Late nights will continue as Check The Levels series will be hosting some of the best DJ’s in London including Nick Bam (10th), Drybabe (11th), Shejay (17th) and Art Collection (18th).

Word Of Mouth (Friday 31st) will be taking over Peckham Levels for another night of non-stop Hip-Hop vibes. Brought to you by Gee Bag, Word of Mouth is an evening of open mic freestyle cyphers, open forum and live performances.

Performing on the night will be Tuff Boyz of Revorg Records performing their latest release “Bat Night”.

This month’s Deeper Into Movies collection of free film screenings will also be returning to the Auditorium every Tuesday showcasing interesting and unusual movies such as ‘If Beale Street could talk’ (14th), ‘Beetlejuice’ (21st) and ‘The Notorious Bettie Page’ (28th).

Featuring some of the UK’s best live musicians and both new and established artists it provides a platform for live cross genre collaboration.

Sunday 19th January Bizzie Bodies @ Community Workspace (11am-4pm) Bizzie Bodies is a community interest company. giving access to young children aged between 8 to 11 years through creative activities including 3D Printing, 3D Design, Virtual Reality, Coding, Robotics, Electronics, Craft. All the Activities, will be delivered as part of an overarching roadshow project with emphasis on new opportunities for learning, ways to collaborate, innovative ideas and exploring creativity.

Thursday 23rd January Cozy Chorus Presents: Kadeem Tyrell & Friends @ Auditorium (7pm-close)

Friday 24th January Movimentos @ Auditorium (7.30pm-close) Movimientos returns to Peckham Levels bringing some more authentic Latin American vibes with Nirk Molina & The UK Vallenato All Stars featuring a crack squad of the finest Latin musicians in the London scene playing heavyweight Colombian-Caribbean Dance music plus Movimientos DJs bringing a hot mix of Latin and tropical vibes all night.

Saturday 25th January Peckham Levels Beer Festival @ Auditorium (2pm-close) In partnership with The Crows Nest & Lady Godiva, Peckham Levels are proud to present The Peckham Levels Beer Festival, hosted Peckham Levels with 6 local independent breweries, live music & DJs. Each brewery will have their own stall at Peckham Levels serving some of their favourite small batch beers at discounted prices!

Tuesday 28th January Deeper Into Movies: The Notorious Bettie Page @ Auditorium (7.30pm-close) Friday 31st January Word Of Mouth @ Auditorium (8pm-12.30) Word of Mouth is back at Peckham Levels! The live Hip Hop event brought to you by Gee Bag is a night of open mic freestyle antics, open forum, live performances and good old boombap sounds.
