IT’S BEEN a while since Love Island has been on our screens and while a number of couples have gone their separate ways, there’s one islander that no one can quit – you’ve guessed it, Ovie Soko.
The 28-year-old stole hearts on and off screen when he appeared in the reality show this summer and his spirit and smart business sense suggest he’s here to stay.
There’s only one Ovie but for those hoping to steal his style, there’s great news – he’s just dropped an Asos edit ahead of the launch of his monumental collection with the brand.
It’s no surprise that Ovie has entered an epic partnership with Asos, seeing as the online fashion retailer has been just as enamoured with the London-born basketball player as fans of the show. Before he had even left the villa, Asos was staking its claim on him on social media – telling rival retailer Boohooman that it would race it to snap him up.
While there’s no guarantee that the ex-Love Islander’s charm, goofiness and good looks will rub off on you (who are we kidding, this won’t happen) you can emulate his look with the range of AW19 pieces.
Each item in Ovie’s affordable edit has been handpicked by the man himself. His selection of Asos branded items, which is available to shop from now, includes statement suits, bucket hats, on-trend utility gilets and harness bags.
For the more adventurous, there are velour t0shirts and mesh and lace tops. Attention has also been paid to inclusion with items from the Asos Design Plus, a range that goes up to size 6XL.
Asos celebrated the Ovie Style Edit launch on September 16, which they declared National Ovie Day, but with his star power and upcoming capsule collection, we’re pretty confident that we’ll be celebrating Ovie for the foreseeable future.
His own exclusive design collaboration with Asos, a seven-piece capsule collection, the first celebrity partnership of its kind for Asos, will drop on Monday September 23.
A departure from the usual approach of the ubiquitous online fashion brand and celebrity collaborations, where personalities simply model pre-existing items, Ovie has been hands-on with the design process. His range is inspired by his dad, an artist named Ray, and features pieces inspired by his sketchbooks and paintings.
