ORGANISERS OF the Africa Fashion Week London 2020 have suspended tickets sales for their event but have delayed making a decision on whether or not they cancel for the next 30 days.

With the highly anticipated event scheduled for August a statement said they are ‘following the advice of the UK Government’ and will ‘hold steady’ in respect of annoucning a postponement or cancellation.

Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, CEO & Founder of Africa Fashion Week London & Nigeria, said in the stamenent: “AFWL2020 is due to take place on 7-8 August which is four and a half months away. While some of our friends and colleagues who hold similar events have been cancelling or postponing; we are going to hold steady for the next 30 days.

“We will decide how to proceed with this year’s event by mid-April. We are also going to suspend ticket sales until then.

“I do hope we can still meet this year. I know this crisis is having an unprecedented effect on our industry, our loved ones, friends and colleagues. Our love and support are with all who have been affected personally.

“We will continue to share news, important updates and, of course, fashion on our social media platforms in the coming weeks.

“In the meantime, let’s sit tight, stay healthy, help each other and follow official guidance.”

This show has been cancelled and the organisers are making life difficult for cusotmers who have purchased tickets by not responding to refund requests. I and others have emailed every member of staff on the official website including the ticket information email and have got no response. IWe have even phoned the numberon their facebook page to no avail. Next step is to go to the consumer watchdog and report this organisation unless someone from the Voice newspaper can kindly put myself and other purchased ticket holders in touch with someone from AFWL 2020 UK organisers for the show that was scheduled for 8th Aug 2020 so we can get our money back. Under the consumer legislation we are entitled to a refund. Thank you
