THE DUKE and Duchess of Sussex will spend Christmas with Meghan’s mum, according to reports.

The royal couple who celebrated the holidays with the Queen and the rest of the royal family at Sandringham for the past two years are set to mark Archie’s first Christmas with a more intimate affair.

The news that Meghan and Harry would celebrate the season with Doria Ragland, was confirmed to CNN by a spokesperson for the Sussexes.

The spokesperson told CNN that the couple’s choice was “is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen”.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent Christmas with Kate’s family in 2016. It is understood that they will spend this Christmas with the Queen.

While it has been confirmed that the Prince Harry and Meghan will be doing Christmas slightly differently this year, there is no news on where they will spend it.

Ragland resides in Los Angeles and there is speculation that the family may travel to the US for the holiday.

The Sussexes are also due to take a break from public duties to spend more time together as a family.

Today they shared a previously unseen photograph from baby Archie’s christening on their Instagram page in celebration of Prince Charles 71st birthday.

The picture features three generations of the royal family, Prince Charles, Prince Harry and Archie, who is held in his father’s arms.
