Clap our Carers at 8pm on Thursday, March 26

Organisers of Clap for our Carers are asking the public to show their appreciation for the doctors, nurses, GPs, emergency workers and pharmacists battling COVID-19

THE MEDICAL staff at the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic are to be subject to a show of appreciation at 8pm on Thursday, March 26.

The UK population is being urged to applaud NH staff on Thursday evening in a mass display of support and solidarity for medical workers tackling the coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers of Clap for our Carers are asking the public to show their appreciation for the doctors, nurses, GPs, emergency workers and pharmacists involved in helping care for those affected by Covid-19 and other sick patients “during these unprecedented times”.

The public is encouraged to clap from their front doors, gardens, balconies or windows, while maintaining a safe distance from neighbours.

FRONT LINE: Medical staff have been assisting the nation

The message has already been widely shared on social media, with hundreds of thousands expected to take part across the UK.

The Wembley Arch, the Principality Stadium, the Royal Albert Hall and Lincoln Cathedral are said to be among some of the landmarks which are set to be lit up in blue during the salute.
