Protests planned over Ashford mass attack

Five people including three girls aged 10 to 16 have been arrested, with cops seeking a sixth girl, as they appeal for witnesses.

COMMUNITY PROTESTS are being planned amid outrage over a mass assault on a black girl by several white girls as white adults stood around and watched.

Police have arrested five people after a video of the attack, on a street in Ashford, Surrey, spread on social media.

Cops requested that the video is not shared as they investigate. A 10-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, a 16-year-old girl, a 39-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man have all been arrested for their roles in the attack.

A 15-year-old girl is also wanted for arrest, and is aware the police are looking for her.

The attack took place around 2.30pm yesterday near Thomas Knyvett College. The video apparently shows multiple girls kicking, punching and pulling the hair of a black girl while several adults look on.

A Change.org petition had attracted 3,200 signatures at the time of publication, and it is understood that many people have called the college to complain, with locals criticising the headteacher, Richard Beeson, for his actions on the scene.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “We are aware that this incident will have caused concern among students, parents, and staff at Thomas Knyvett College, as well as the wider community.

“We would like to reassure you that an investigation is underway, five arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

“And we are working closely with Thomas Knyvett College as we investigate this matter.

“We are also aware that several videos of this distressing incident are circulating on social media.

“We ask that you do not share any videos or images of this incident, but to submit them via the link below so they can be considered as evidence in this investigation.”

Police are appealing for any eyewitnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, helmet cam footage, or any images and videos on their mobile phones to get in touch with them.

I’m appalled at the action of these kids! Shocked that so called people would stand there and record this? The so called Adults should be locked up and made an example of. Children should be put into secure units.
I’d so wish I could been there to help and stop these thugs. My heart goes out to those poor people injured by these animals. Well I shouldn’t call them animals and they don’t act in such despicable manner. Vile scum

      • | Greg Potts

How come nobody is recognising that the perpetrators are Irish Travellers and talking about that community? It’s the elephant in the room that people here seem to be scared to mention…why?

  2. | anonymous

Those adults just watching especially that rascist coward in his needs to be held accountable also, so dose that principal. he should be sacked.
If it were black girls beating on a white girl !…… Well need i say more……. you know it would be a different outcome… I PERSONALLY WISH I LIVED NEARER AS I WOULD BE THERE TODAY PROTESTING …………TRUST ME….. I AM VEXXXXX!

  3. | Janice

The adults need to go to Prison and the guy that stopped in his car looked then drove off should be arrested too. What disgusting behaviour edged on by the adults. Adults are supposed to be the responsible one and yet they were the ones inciting this beavior. And all the girls involved in the attack on that poor girl, while everyone stood by and watched, should be sent to a remand centre for behavioural problems. I wonder what would have happened if the girls were Black attacking one white girl, they would all be locked up and expelled and the Police would have been called. BLM

This was a vicious barbaric attack on a young girl because of the colour of her skin.
How can a pack of wolves be instigated by a mother to attack an innocent child, and told get her, kick her.
They are all a pack of blood thirsty animals with adult bystanders looking in.
What if that was your daughter, sister. Would it have been the same if it was black girls attacking a white girl, would you still stand by and look.
Shame and disgrace on the whole lot of you.

And so it continues. 2023 and we still being attacked and abused. Head teacher needs to be fired. Parent and offspring should be prosecuted and expelled. Let’s see what happens…..I’m happy yo see us taking action via petitions and protests. Outrageous despicable behaviour. Racist Scum bags from the darkest cessation pits of hell should be shot with shit and banished back to where they came from to live like the vermin that they are

    Stop assaulting our girl.

  7. | Beverley French

That poor, poor girl. God – I wish I’d been there to help her! Let’s hope justice is served on that pack of racist animals.

  8. | Eseoghene Joy Victor-Igun

The parents and girls should be arrested because I have daughters too I won’t accept such on my girls . Racism should be stoped so I sign this petition

‘The Howard Partnership Trust Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people …’ TYPICALLY TOTALLY MEANINGLESS WORDS / SLOGANS / SOUNDBITES AS WITH SO MUCH OF THOSE IN LEADERSHIP ROLES WHILST RACIAL SOCIAL ECONOMIC INJUSTICE RAGES ALL AROUND US.

‘Bringing out the best’ empty slogan of this school. Thugs more like, judging by this most evil assault.

Is this what CRT looks like or to be blunt institutional, systemic, structural racism looks like and its outcomes for those with a colonial baggage steeped in racial superiority and privilege? Mr G Floyd comes to mind juxta positioned with the outcry over Sarah Everard where actions spoke louder than words where the police are being held in disrepute.

A most shockingly vile incident where a lone young black schoolgirl was isolated and repeatedly stamped / kicked in the head, thrown around, etc whilst surrounded by an all baying white crowd and nobody stepped in to stop this attempted murder.

I’ve signed a petition for the head and co to be sacked and for this school to be put into special measures as shown by the actions of senior staff who must have seen this from a distance and showed no urgency. The casual all too late intervention by supposedly senior staff was even more shocking. Imagine if it happened to their own children? Sarah Everard comes to mind.

I have sent this video.as far as Jamaica and Kenya.and i.hope it goes worldwide.so every black person on this planet sees it .

  11. | Fortune Chiriro

This is so wrong, we are scared our kids will be killed at school.

  12. | Ann

The school principal acted disgracefully and clearly failed to protect all the youngesters involved. The youngesters need our guidance. Not clear display in promoting inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour. The adult parent and other adult onlookers who did nothing is clearly a disgrace to the nation. I think that school should come under some serious investigations to find out what is really going on there.

  13. | KathleenšŸ‘¼šŸ’ Douglas

There are no words in the English dictionary to express my feelings, my thoughts about such a hellish incident that was not only encouraged by white parents more importantly by people human beings who have turned a blind eye because this child was black. All I can say is black people need to cover their children with prayer and the blood of Jesus as we are surrounded by evil! There is no other explanation, God help us .

    • | Ann

I’m so angry! If it was my daughter I know exactly what I would do. Those kinda a things can’t happen here in Jamaica, or to a Jamaican! That thing that brought them in the world deserves everything that is coming to it.

  14. | Tessa Morson

I think it should be made known how the little girl is doing. She is the victim afterall. It may settle the reactions if some empathy is seen.

Just imagine this was your little girl.

  15. | Monsantu Asase

I was disgusted with the violent attack on the defenceless African girl. It is traumatic to watch and puts me on alert where I go before and even after.
The seniors should be ashamed for not trying stop it while some were encouraging it and others calmly watched on with no eagerness to stop it.
    I suspect racism in this.
If it was one white girl attacked by other black children, including an adult they the seniors would have jumped in without delay.

Justice for the African school girl.

  16. | Denise Copeland

When is the next protest going to be miss this one Do these devils think we are still in slavery our children will not be treated this way and I want to know when enough is enough ,

  17. | Tracy Togara

This is traumatizing l also have a daughter in secondary school why do you expect me to feel justice should prevail

  18. | Debbie

I watched this video with a burning heart and my blood boiling. That poor girl being brutalised by those savages whilst all of those people looked on and didnā€™t do anything to help her.
I was repulsed by the actions of all of the adults and the children involved in this shocking beating.
Big, grown men, sat in their cars and watched, absolutely disgusting.
The teachers that slowly sauntered to the beating, have to provide a duty of care to all pupils, which they failed to provide to the victim.
The head teacher, at the very least should be demoted, he cannot be a leader at the school, if he fails to protect the children.
The adults involved are a disgrace and should not be in control of children. I hope Social Services are now involved, with a view to removing the children from their care.
Iā€™ve seen that arrests have been made. I just hope that justice will be served.

  19. | Esther Amankwah Afrane

I cried when I saw the video. The headteacher should be sack as soon as possible. I agree with a demonstration, the mother of these children including the man, the 15 and 16 year old must be arrested and put to prison.

  20. | MRS A O GIWA

These people must be brought to book. Justice for the brown girl

  21. | Josephine

Absolutely shameful and disgusting racist behaviour. What is the matter with the white girls and the woman shouting out and adults & other teenagers just standing round watching and filming. Where were the teachers? Head teacher? Police? Disgraceful.

  22. | Phil

When is the Head Teacher resigning?
Imagine this was a white girl? It will be on CNN, BBC and media channels in the moon.

  23. | Nichola Williams

I hope that justice will be done, not another meaningless suspended sentence, the 39 and 43 year old should do time in prison, lengthy time, they encouraged the violent abuse of another child, as a mother I would want nothing less, the others involved, should be sent to birstall, and the owards that watched, regardless of age should all be fined and made to stand up in front of that child family and explain why they thought that was ok to do, I am a white mother of 4 children and 6 grandchildren, we are a mixed family and every member is loved and important to all of us, I raised my children to look at people not colour , my heart goes out to that little girl and her family, I am so shocked and appalled by what they did.

  24. | ETA

I think we should speak up and let all our voices be united across the nation by all means possible. It’s such a scarry sight to behold, was literally crying for the girl. The Lord will keep protecting us and our children from every wickedness and evil in the form of men.

  25. | Mapudi Joel Seabela

Disgraceful, this is why some people are not meant to be parents. I hope they rot in jail.

  26. | Caroline Akosile

This was disgraceful. I was moved to tears. What if she was my grandchild? The adults and all
Involved should be brought to book. There is no read on earth for this type of despicable action towards another human species.

  27. | BLAMAN SEKETE

The inactions of those who could have done something and did not is so sad and a reflection of deep seated racism. Focus on the drivers in their cars and ABOVE ALL THE TWO TEACHERS- (HEAD TEACHER) appalling response SIR. Children are not safe in that school, how can you casually walk /watch as the poor girl was brutalised.

  28. | Yaa

And why is the police asking the public not to share the video? Iā€™m just curious

  29. | Diva$

Barbaric and shameful. In this day and age. Black lives matter

  30. | Anonymous

This incident demonstrates that racism is a live and kicking In England. The men standing around by the motorbikes did nothing and the adults in the cars sat and watched this child been beaten. Shame on them all. The teachers intervention was shocking, there appeared to be no urgently in dealing with this serious assault. We know if it were black girls beating on a white girl the reaction would have been totally different. My heart goes out to this young girl and her family. Shocking as it was this young girl fought like a warrior. The woman shouting directions on how to inflict the greatest of harm, must be given the harshest sentence of all. I really hope justice is served. The black communities from around the country needs to come out and protest, march to demand justice. We cannot and should sit in silence.

  31. | Nnennaya Alisa

What happened during the gang up on the black girl, mirrors exactly what is happening in our different establishments in Uk today.
My fear is that the future will be worse than the present.Because you can see the mum in the fight teaching her children how to treat others,in case of a disagreement,in this case the black.
Yes in this particular case the kids were fighting a black girl but in future,it may not be a black girl.
It May be husband, wife, girlfriend boyfriend. This is how people get killed.
Imagine if that black girl died in the process of that fight?
Secondly l strongly believe that this is not the first time those girls have had this type of fight .looking at the display on the circulating video, they would have had a previous experience.

The head teacher approached the scene of the fight with no sense of urgency in other words, the scene he was called to,is a normal occurrence not an emergency. He shouldnā€™t be a head teacher.

I believe that all the adults watching the fight should be questioned.
The reason because that they were all encouraging the abuse /fight

Tough as it may be,but that mum should be away from those children.
The black girl and her family need to be moved from the area.
This case is in a way is similar to George Floyd white Police men watched his breath systematically taken away by a white police man.
Here, white adults watched the black girl being beaten by four white girls, the difference is that here ,the black girl did not die.
Black Lives Matter ,we must wake up to the call.

  32. | Donna Hutson

This is a very very horrendous reality of shocking racist brutality directed to a young african girl by a pack of baying wolves the woman inciting all this needs to be locked up , the men in the cars were just cowards, what if it were their child? Had it been a group of brown skin children

van loads of police would have been on the scene in minutes!!!! This is 2023 and ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTABLE . This has been seen all over the world now headteacher needs to be sacked

  33. | Dadirai

I was heartbroken. I could not watch the video to the end as it was distressing.poor girl could easily have died from that brutal attack . For those adults who watched , shame on you , you have hearts made of rock and iron. As for the Headteacher , the biggest shame on you

  34. | MR Joe Bloggs

There’s no smoke without fire .!!!! Have you dim wits on here seen the other video footage.???

    • | Jennifer Nelson

Mr ‘Joe Bloggs’, you are an evil sociopath and a coward, to boot; a pseudo-member of the human race….

  35. | Mr Benjamin

There are lots of comments about the head teacher’s behaviour. Indeed there is a common demeanour here. The Thomas Kynvett College is associated with The Earl of Effingham school. The school logo is a slave ship called the Earl of Effingham. The Earl’s ship was a slave trader details can be found at the slavery museum in London. The Thomas Kynvett was a school in special measure had a different logo then rebranded and now carries the same Slave ship logo as its sister school the Earl of Effingham. So do you think the Head teacher and governors of these schools do not know what they and the logo represents and in a time when institutions are rebranding and taking down such historical representations they are expanding!!

  36. | Chris

Correction to earlier post: The sister school and slave ship is not the Earl but the Howard of Effingham who’s logo is the slave ship and given same logo to rebranding of Thomas Knyvett school.

The Howard of Effingham school took over Thomas Knyvett: As part of the Howards Trust!!

This was beyond disgusting, ssuch a cowardly attack by this utter scum. Let’s hope there is some justice at the very minimum

  38. | Pet

It goes to show that NORHING has changed. The racism is bubbling under the surface. I’m disgusted, vex and justice for this poor girl.

  39. | Stephany Janet

Without interest in what caused the fight, I am disgusted by the acts of the so called “mother” who mobilised her young animals to attack a little black girl, she should rot in jail so that the meaning of “that’s right” sinks in her narrow head.
The entire world has watched thus and we wait to see the punishment given to these brainless animals covered in white skins. They ain’t human at all, they should be caged with their fellow animals somewhere far from human habitats.

    Very disgusting.

  40. | Ruth

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from those white girls and completely evil of the grown ups involved including those standing by. Where is humanity? Very sorry for the victim and hopefully she gets counselling as that must be a very traumatic experience

  41. | saim malik

Absolutely discasting racist thugs…..they all deserve to be put behind bars for attacking this girl like animals! They need to be held accountable and serious punishment for encouraging and enjoying such a vile attack clearing due to the colour of her skin! Extremely distressing even watching and my heart goes out to her and her family.

  42. | Maria

These are children egged on by adults šŸ˜³I couldnā€™t believe that adult bystanders did not intervene to help this girl, if it was a white girl being beaten the entire police force would have been there !
Social needs to take these children.. animals in care , and the all the adults locked up , as for the teachers , they should be sacked and prosecuted!
That school needs to go into special measures, the one man saying thereā€™s two sides to the story he needā€™s therapy! I couldnā€™t believe what I was seeing šŸ˜³

  43. | Simon R

This is ridiculous. How on earth can the head teacher or school be responsible for what a bunch of Irish travellers turn up and do outside the school. We need a proper court system to deal with this

  44. | Sophie

That is heartbreaking to see an innocent child being brutally attacked by a gang of thugs with no shame & empathy. Such a traumatic incident to the child that may affect her mental and well being. The law should not favour the thugs because of colour, they must surely be imprisoned for their barbaric actions. What a racist attack, pathetic & disgusting, soo angry šŸ˜”
