SUELLA BRAVERMAN is due to fly to Rwanda this evening in an attempt to hash out plans on the  “inhumane” policy to send asylum seekers to the African country despite growing backlash.

The controversial policy was rolled out by her predecessor, the former Home Secretary Priti Patel, but the government plans have been bolstered against by human rights campaigners and the European Court of Human Rights.

Ms Braverman is expected to meet with Rwandan politicians in the capital Kigali similar to Ms Patel who was blasted for signing off the £140ml almost a year ago.

The publicly funded visit to Rwanda comes after Ms Braverman and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak unveiled the Illegal Migration Bill last week that will ban asylum seekers arriving in Britain on small boats through the English Channel.

Once removed from the country, the hardline policy stops them from ever returning for a better life.

On Monday, the the second reading of the controversial bill passed through the Commons with a majority of 62 and is now set to go to committee stage.

Ms Braverman told Parliament on Monday: “Rwanda is a dynamic country with a thriving economy. I have enjoyed visiting it myself, twice, and I look forward to visiting it again.”

She added: “I want to put something on the record, it’s perfectly respectable for a child of immigrants like me to say I’m deeply grateful to live here, to say that immigration has been overwhelmingly good for Great Britain but that we’ve had too much of it in recent years. And to say that uncontrolled and illegal migration is simply bad.”

The bill has been widely criticised by MPs including former PM Theresa May and sparked a row between the BBC and Gary Lineker who temporarily ousted from appearing on the broadcasters Match of the Day programme after he compared Braverman’s language towards asylum seekers as being similar to the rhetoric used in Germany in the 1930s.

The uproar sent the BBC’s football coverage into disarray and saw fellow sports pundits, including Ian Wright who refused to appear on the broadcaster’s Saturday programme in solidarity with Lineker.

Ms Braverman was previously criticised for calling illegal migration to Britain an “invasion,” despite her own parents immigrating to country from Maritius and Kenya in the 1960s.

The Illegal Migration Bill will allow the government to lock people up without bail for up to 28 days with the possibility to extend this for even longer.

The Home Secretary has already admitted that the bill would go against human rights, but insisted that she “will not be hectored by out of touch lefties” over the controversial plans.

Thousands of protesters are preparing to march against the bill this Saturday (18 March) across the country in London, Glasgow and Cardiff in efforts to stamp out all forms of racism they believe he bill is peddling.

Weyman Bennett, a member of human rights group Stand Up to Racism, said: “We reject the politics of hate and welcome refugees. Rather than refugees being to blame, the truth is that over 200 child refugees have gone missing. Refugees are not to be blamed for the cost of living crisis – they do not own the gas companies. Electricity companies have profited by billions while refugees are the destitute fleeing war torn countries.

“We must stand up to racism. We must stand in solidarity with the refugees. Our government has used refugees as a human shield. We must fight back together, against all bigotry and racism.”

This Conservative Government need to Brexit from the European Court of Human Rights, and immediately start deporting all the asylum seekers, and economic migrants, who have illegally entered England on small overcrowded boats.

It cannot be right; wholesome or healthy for thousands of African, Asian and Muslim men are tolerated to illegally enter England, and demand luxury accommodation and pocket money.

Why has it become a crime in England to want to protect; preserve and speak boldly in defence England’s Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, Irish, Catholic and Protestant heritage?

    Not all cultures are equal.
