The role:

We are seeking a trusted strategic adviser who will work as part of 23red client and project teams across existing clients and new business and leading the brand strategy and planning discipline as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Advise clients on high-level strategies to tackle complex behaviour change challenges.
  • Lead project teams to develop insight led creative briefs and propositions to inspire creative leaps.
  • Establishing the red thread (from insight through strategy to proposition) early and writing compelling articulation thereof for tender responses and presentations.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to inspire and nurture the development of award-winning creative output.
  • Have a point of view on channel planning and inspire creative solutions across all owned, earned and paid channels.
  • Lead and facilitate strategic workshops, brainstorms, briefings, and reviews.
  • Build the agency’s strategy capability internally and via partners and Associates.
  • Build the agency’s primary and secondary research capability.
  • Build the agency’s planning and strategy skills.
  • Guide the strategic development of junior colleagues from across the agency.
  • Lead the development of the agency’s strategic offer and new strategy tools.
  • Professional development lead for strategy and planning; developing, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Champion the agency’s experience and expertise externally via IPA and APG forums, PR thought pieces and conference speaking.

The candidate:

  • Strategic thinking: Adept and agile in developing behaviour change strategies for a range of causes, organisational challenges or business problems and distilling into strategic frameworks and creative propositions.
  • Insight lead: Start with a working hypothesis to shape the insight requirement, mining data to inform behavioural segmentation and targeting, gap fill with desk research, commissioned and stakeholder’s insights and share insight in a compelling and inspiring manner.
  • Behaviour change: Familiar with and conversant in using behaviour change models (inc COM-B), principles such as EAST and the full range of techniques.
  • Research experience and skilled moderator with a breadth of knowledge of different research methodologies; especially in targeting hard to reach audiences.
  • Communication skills: communicate clearly, concisely and in a compelling way in written documents and presentations.
  • Organisation: manage time efficiently and prioritise work effectively, managing others’ expectations and meeting deadlines.
  • Leadership and management skills: able to lead and manage project teams. Strong and inspiring agency leader
  • Computer skills: excellent IT skills (PowerPoint presentation skills), Excel skill for marketing (pivot tables, regression analysis), Word long hand tender writing.
