A cup of cheer raising the spirits of London’s youth

Non-profit organisation KickOff@3 are celebrating London’s youth with a much-anticipated community football tournament

ELEVATED: ELEVATED: Elevated Minds from Southwark Borough, who successfully took part in KickOff@3’s latest event in St. Albans, Hertfordshire. This was the first time they had taken part in a tournament together and narrowly missed out on the semi-finals

CELEBRATING AND supporting young people is at the heart of KickOff@3’s ethos. In the difficult time we live in where knife and gun crime are rife in many communities across London, KickOff@3 delivers this event as an act of encouragement and motivation for young and vulnerable people.

Young people from London and various other parts of the country will be able to sign up as a team and enter the KickOff@3 Community Cup taking place on October 18. Keeping inclusivity at the core of all KickOff@3 sports events, young people aged between 14 and 16 will have the option of entering as an all-boys, an all-girls, or, as a mixed-gender team.

Registrations

There has been fantastic interest for the Community Cup so far, with registrations filling quickly. The tournament will be held at the stunning Warren Estate in Bromley, from 9am-3:30pm.

We look forward to welcoming all the teams and guests to celebrate our young people.

KickOff@3 co-founders

If KickOff@3’s latest football tournament is anything to go by, this upcoming cup will be a day full of fun, friendly competition and high spirits. Players will be awarded with a range of prizes, medals and certificates including a pair of Nike football boots, JD Sports vouchers and trophies (with trophies and medals kindly sponsored by Hammonds Builders, Hertfordshire, and vouchers provided for by the local community).

Using their platform, both co-founders of KickOff@3 – police officer Michael Wallace and bus driver Ashley Levien – have proudly raised awareness on the work of other local charities and campaigns, including the Black Lives Matter movement.

Outstanding

With Black History Month falling in October simultaneously with the Community Cup, the day of the tournament will celebrate the black community and its history, as well as the outstanding achievements of its members. This event is as much about education as it is diversion.

In support of the cup and the efforts of KickOff@3, Chelsea’s first black player, Paul Canoville and Dr. Angela Hertbert MBE (chair of the violent crime prevention board) will be in attendance as key guests of the event.

With the day of the cup fast approaching, KickOff@3 co-founders told The Voice in a joint statement: “We look forward to welcoming all the teams and guests to celebrate our young people whilst also working closely with the MET police service and the Black Police Association”.
