‘Dream come true’ for Gambian star after first call up to national team

SWINDON TOWN football star and University of East London Alumnus, Saidou Khan has received his first call-up to the Gambian National team.

Commenting on his call-up to the Swindon Town media team Saidou said “It’s a dream come true. Even if it was a friendly it would mean a lot, but seeing as it’s a qualification match, there’s everything to play for.”   

Midfielder Saidou, a UEL high-performance scholar, who studied for a BSc in Sport, Physical Education and Development, will join up with the Gambian national team on June 8th ahead of their African Cup of Nations Qualification match against South Sudan on June 14th.

‘The Scorpions’ currently lie in third place in Group G with two games remaining. Saidou played 37 times in all competitions for Swindon Town last season and joined them last year from National League side Chesterfield.
