GHETTS’ NEW album ‘Conflict Of Interest‘ is yet another example of why the London artist is one of the most revered is the UK music space.

If you thought he poured his heart and soul in Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament, released in 2018, his latest unveiling of internal growth and maturity juxtaposed with a dynamic lyrical depth and freedom of exploration, taketh the breath away.

He’s a G. it’s simple. But he’s a G that pushes the bar, his own bar.

Fans who follow him close enough would be privy to the evolving of Ghetts in every shape and form. This refined 2021 version is a world and a universe away from the raw and largely unrecognised talent who roamed the streets of east London hunting his destiny.

He’s arrived.

‘Conflict Of Interest‘ is awash with collabs from the likes of Jaykae, Moonchild Sanelly, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Pa Salieu, Backroad Gee, Giggs, Dave and Skepta, the type of contribution from a pool of artists that also serves as a nod to the eminence of their peer.

They all add to the mix in their inimitable and defined way and serve to compliment the variety of moods Ghetts reflects on any given track.

It’s a good time for Ghetts. His longevity is being rewarded. He’s always retained a hardcore following who knew of his genius and have trod the course with his every twist and turn.

There are few that won’t be happy for him, it’s almost a prerequisite for any Grime fan to support this OG.

He’s living proof that artistry can traverse the boundaries that exist in the minds of others, be they consumers or industry figure heads.

It’s a beautiful thing to see true organic creativity flower in such a way but by no means is this a late bloomer. Far from it.

Talking about the project to Apple Music he said: “Where I’m at now is that everything has to sound amazing.”

He added: “My biggest fear with this album is that people consume it like a compilation.

“Just looking at the tracklist and spotting features, thinking that they can jump the tracks. This is a journey. It makes complete sense when you listen to it the way it’s supposed to be listened to.”
