When Judi met Whoopi

British comedian and presenter sits down with 'idol' to talk Loose Women going Stateside, Sister Act Three and impact of new movie

ON TODAY’S show, Loose Women’s very own Judi Love, sat down with multi-award winning Whoopi Goldberg, ahead of the release of her brand new movie Till.

Opening the interview, Judi told Whoopi: “I am so honoured to be in your presence. I mean, this is a childhood dream of mine. I’ve watched you on TV and I remember saying to myself, I want to be like that woman. I saw myself.”

The admiration was reciprocated as Whoopi replied: “I love you all too. Listen, Loose Women was, I think, one of the first shows I did and I had such a good time. When I started doing The View, I thought you know, there’s this show over in London and they do what we do…

“I thought it would be fun to bring The View over and do four days of shows and bring you all over to the US and do four days of shows – and then the pandemic hit! So that’s why I think it sort of fell apart.”

Discussing Whoopi’s new film, Judi asked: “How important do you think it is for children to see this movie that explores the true nature of racism, how it impacts black families and people?”

Whoopi replied: “It is as important as it was for us to read any of the stories of any of the atrocities that have happened anywhere in the world, particularly when it’s told through the eyes of a young person.”

She further explained: “I want people to get uncomfortable if they recognise themselves. If they don’t recognise themselves and they recognise someone else I want them to say ‘oh, that’s what that is’.”

Revealing if there are plans for a third Sister Act film, Whoopi said: “You know, one of the things that I want to make sure I do while I’m here is… I want to let Maggie Smith know that I’m holding the part of Mother Superior for you [Maggie]. Because I just can’t do it with anybody but you.

“So if you need me to come over here [to England] and shoot and do whatever we have to do, we will do whatever you want us to do, but we don’t want to do it without you.”

She continued: “I’m liking the script, you know we’re all going to do whatever we have to do. I’m trying to secure a director.”

Asked if she would return to stand up, Whoopi admitted: “I was getting ready to do that again before the pandemic and unfortunately right now, for comics in the US, it’s a little dicey. I think I’m just gonna… I feel like I give people enough of a target when I do the show.”

Before saying goodbye, Judi told Whoopi: “You’ve inspired so many and I can’t believe that as a little black girl, that it was looking at you on TV that made me feel this is what I want to do.

“Even though from society I was made to feel I would never do it, I’m now sitting here interviewing you.”

Back in the studio, Judi emotionally added: “People don’t realise after that, like I did this morning, I broke down in tears. It was such an honour. It’s an amazing movie, she exec produced it and is in the show. You know, it’s a hard watch but it’s something that we need to watch together.”

Ms Goldberg vehemence, and unreasonable apposition; and refusal to recognise the many benefits for American people of African-heritage from President Trump’s four-year leadership, was repulsive; and taught me not to revere unworthy African-American people.

In my opinion, Ms Goldberg; along with Ms Oprah Winfrey and President Barack Obama, are unworthy of the admiration they receive especially from the “Politically Correct” Caucasian Left; largely because they tick the “diversity” quota: their skin-colour, and African-heritage.
