House of EL leads with love

HOE BUSINESS: House Of EL drops new track

IN A world that will have you doing the complete opposite, House of EL aka Kieron McIntosh, tells the Voice that you have to ‘lead with love’.

A highly accomplished musician, skilled on the keys, guitar, bass, drums, McIntosh dropped his latest offering, “Don’t Let Your Love Go” this week. The track is firmly within House of EL’s left-field capabilities yet with a slightly indie/electro-leaning appeal.

“‘Don’t Let Your Love Go Away’ actually started as a jam I did on my Instagram.. and then turned into such a special song,” he explained.

He added: “The way the work is right now, we’ve gotta lead with love and that’s the message of DLYLGA!”

Defined by the irresistible quirk of House of EL’s innate funk undertones, “Don’t Let Your Love Go” is a layered offering of both instrumental delight and positive affirmation.

“During lockdown I met a homeless guy outside a shop everyday and he had been kicked out of his house by his wife, he was so positive and full of love…I was inspired. DLYLGA is a reminder that in the face of difficulty and mayhem to stay positive and show love

“Being and artist and producer, I wanted to write and produce something positive but hopefully still with that modern House of EL grit”, House of EL explains.

Originally a jazz trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist House of EL, whilst tethered in the sound of jazz and improvised music, furthered his musicality as he moved into producing and song-writing. Quickly establishing his credibility as a songwriter working with artists such as Plan B, Tom Grennan, Paloma Faith, before emerging with his own original material.

It is no surprise that House of EL has carved himself such success.

His musical ingenuity has not only been the backbone to his own releases but also a number of global releases.

Such releases belonging to a number of household names, including Mary J Blige, Janelle Monae, Kano, Joey Badass, Emili Sandé, Paloma Faith and Chase & Status – the list could go on.
