NSG drop ‘Area Boyz’ as they celebrate ten years

NSG announce highly anticipated debut album

FOLLOWING THEIR recent hits, including ‘Unruly’ with Meekz and ‘Ride’ with North London’s Nines, the pioneering East London Afro-fusion collective known as NSG has revealed the imminent release of their debut album ‘Area Boyz’

The album is set to hit the shelves on October 20, coinciding with ’10 Years of NSG,’ a celebration of their pivotal role in the Afroswing genre.

The album’s tracklist boasts an impressive lineup of collaborations with heavyweight artists from around the world. These include French rapper MHD, Nigerian sensations Seyi Vibez and Odumodublvck, Ghanaian Hip-Hop artist Sarkodie, Cameroonian-American breakout star Libianca, as well as UK talents like Aitch and Tion Wayne. Their long-time collaborator JAE5 also joins the ranks.

The album, featuring 19 tracks, introduces 17 previously unreleased songs.

NSG’s distinctive fusion of laidback Afrobeats with UK and US Hip-Hop, coupled with Caribbean influences, has consistently garnered them a substantial following. This unique blend has resulted in a remarkable number of streams across their discography, securing them a place in the UK Top 10 and multiple Top 40 hits. With the upcoming release of ‘Area Boyz,’ they are poised for international recognition.

Speaking about their debut album, NSG expressed their gratitude for their fans’ patience and promised that the wait would be worth it. They exclaimed: “Area Boyz debut album out 20th October 2023. LET’S GO!”

This announcement follows their recent ‘Make Afroswing Great Again Show,’ which sold out at Here At Outernet.

The event saw NSG collaborating with JAE5, Steel Banglez, and Dankie Sounds, bringing together influential acts like Tion Wayne, Kojo Funds, Young T & Bugsey, Darkoo, and more. NSG’s sold-out tours have taken their electrifying performances across Europe, Africa, and Canada. During the summer, they partnered with La Fam to host an Area Boyz merchandise pop-up in Paris.

NSG, described as a brotherhood, comprises members Kruddz, Mxjib, Mojo, OGD, Dope, and Papii Abz. They made waves in 2021 with their ‘Headliner EP,’ which featured collaborations with Mist, Patoranking, and long-time collaborator JAE5. Their chart-topping reputation grew with the release of the summer hit ‘Options’ in 2019, followed by hits like ‘OT Bop,’ ‘Lupita,’ and ‘Kate Winslet.’
