Irish artist EFÉ shares brand new single

Check out Dublin-based singer-songwriter Anita Ikharo, aka, EFÉ

THIS WEEK sees EFÉ release her brand new single ‘Truth☆Truth’.

Leaning into her rock influences, the track is brought to life with the accompanying video and is the first taste of new music from the artist since the release of her 2022 EP VITAMIN – C.

Inspired by Japanese pop culture and popstars like Tommy February6 and 800 Cherries, 90s alternative bands like The Cardigans, Hole and No Doubt as well as contemporary artists like BENEE and Beabadoobee, EFÉ’s artistry is constantly evolving as a dynamic young creative force.

Spend five minutes in the artists’ presence, and you’ll see that behind her eclectic blend of indie dream-pop, there’s a personality just as vibrant.

Larger-than-life and full of energy, she’s completed support slots with the likes of JPEGMAFIA, Paolo Nutini and Still Woozy, earned the backing of a host of mainstream media platforms, and played an array of summer festivals including two slots at Glastonbury Festival – all with just two EP’s to her name.

“It’s about feeling so caught up in a relationship and not wanting to be there for that person anymore.” EFÉ says of the track.

She added: “Wishing that the person would just tell the truth as they just kinda get tangled in their own lies. It’s an indie cool song haha.”

On the video, she comments: “For both the promo video and music video, Tommy February6 was a huge influence.

“I loved how she used cheerleaders in weird cool settings that didn’t really make sense. She made mundane everyday images look weird and unique in the best way and I thought it was so cool.

“Another majour inspo was mossy gardens. I feel like greenery always ties into the ‘EFÉ’ brand.”
