Mahalia drops ‘Isolation Tapes’

Brit-nominated R&B star 'proud' to put out new EP after falling in love wth old tracks all over again

MOTIVATED TO find her happy place in these times of uncertainty, Mahalia said putting out her latest project was a fulfilling and cathartic experience.

‘Isolation Tapes’ is Mahalia’s fourth EP and follows the release of her critically acclaimed debut album ‘Love & Compromise’ which was released in the Autumn last year.

Earlier this year, Mahalia wrapped her sold out headline ‘Love and Compromise’ Tour, which saw the songstress perform across a plethora of continents including; Asia, North America, Canada and Europe.

Her tour highlighted not only “What You Did (Feat. Ella Mai),” but also earlier tracks such as the 2019 summer hit “Simmer (Feat. Burna Boy)” and her previously released hit singles “I Wish I Missed My Ex” and “Do Not Disturb,” which each received great critical acclaim.

“Since being at home, I’ve spent a lot of time writing new music and listening to old music.” Mahalia says.

“I found songs that I’d forgotten about, listened to them and fell in love with them all over again. In these uncertain times, when we have so little control over what is going to happen next, I think we have to focus on what we can control.

“Music is where I feel that most. And I’m so proud to be putting this EP out.”
