Could you and YOUR dog become vegan?

Lewis Hamilton changed his dogs diet and saw the difference, now one company wants to pay you to do the same

GOOD HEALTH: Hamilton and Roscoe both enjoy a Plant based life

WHEN LEWIS Hamilton changed his dog Roscoe’s diet to a vegan one, many scoffed at the Formula One Driver for taking things a bit too far.

For Hamilton though, the results where there to see.

Fast forward a couple a years and now a plant-based dog food company is looking to pay a dog owner £30,000 pro-rata to become vegan, along with their dog, for three months.

The pet food brand wants the successful candidate to record their experience of introducing a plant-based diet for them and their dog, monitoring their health, energy levels and behaviour.

The candidate will start as soon as possible and will earn £2,500 per month plus expenses to cover their own food, as well as a three-month supply of dog food.

Writing on social media, Hamilton, who has lived a plant-based life since 2017, explained the differences he had seen in his dog’s health following the change in diet in 2019.

“Roscoe is now fully vegan,” wrote Hamilton.

“Since he has gone vegan, his coat is much softer, his paws have healed up, he is no longer limping with pain of arthritis and his breathing has opened up.”

In the fast lane: Hamilton and Roscoe are in good shape

The novel plant-based job vacancy for the candidate and their four-legged friend comes from OMNI’s vision of helping dogs live healthier lives whilst lowering the carbon paw print on the planet by introducing meat-free or flexitarian diets.

OMNI, who produce 100 per cent nutritionally complete and balanced food, understands there is a pre-existing and incorrect negative connotation in feeding your dog a plant-based diet and wants to communicate the benefits it can have on dogs, and humans.

Dr. Guy Sandelowsky, veterinarian and co-founder of OMNI, said, “The vegan lifestyle doesn’t appeal to everyone but there are credible studies coming out that show excellent digestibility of plant-based foods, with many owners remarking how healthy and happy their dogs are once they make the switch.

“We believe that there is no better time than now to make the change to help you and your dog’s health, and reduce the strain on the planet.”

Applicants must be from the UK and be over the age of 18. No qualifications or vegan experience is required for the job role, just a pre-existing non-vegan diet and a dog you are happy to experience the new diet with.

Job applications close on February 7 and to apply, please follow this link: https://omni.pet/blogs/news/you-and-your-dog-can-get-paid-30-000-to-go-vegan
