Is Silué the sustainable gift you’ve been looking for?

New collection consists of wardrobe staples and classic fits

SO, YOU want to spend your money on Black owned products this Christmas and you want to ensure what you buy comes from a sustainable source. Ok.

Silué, a new trailblazing sustainable fashion brand hailing from the rich landscapes of Côte d’Ivoire, has announced its official launch of contemporary menswear, introducing a new era of conscious clothing.

The collection consists of wardrobe staples and classic fits. Camp collar shirts and straight leg trousers all made using 100 per cent repurposed cotton.

All materials are sourced from local factories in Abidjan, which are discarded due to misprints. The fabric is then dyed by hand using the batik method, resulting in truly unique pieces.

Representative from the brand say that Silué is not just a fashion label; it’s a commitment to ethical practices, environmental stewardship and celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of West Africa.

The collection embodies a harmonious fusion of contemporary style and traditional West African aesthetics, showcasing the brand’s dedication to preserving cultural roots while embracing the contemporary landscape.

From vibrant patterns inspired by traditional practices to modern, timeless silhouettes, Silué offers a unique and versatile wardrobe for the conscious consumer.

Ismael Silué, Founder and Creative Director enthused: “We wish to preserve traditional dyeing techniques which embody the essence of our cultural heritage.

“Our journey begins with a deep respect for the environment and a celebration of the incredible craftsmanship that Africa has to offer. We focus on slow quality fashion that will age gracefully.”

With a dedication to minimising the ecological footprint, Silué meticulously crafts each garment using eco-friendly materials and innovative, sustainable processes.

Working closely with artisans in West Africa to showcase their craftsmanship, whilst also learning and collaborating to refine traditional artistry.
