A DIFFERENT KIND OF NUDE: Nubian Skin's new men's collection

NUBIAN SKIN, the hosiery and lingerie brand for melanin-rich skin tones has launched a range of nude underwear for men.

The brand, which previously only catered to black women and women of colour, has expanded to become even more inclusive than before.

Announcing the news on social media, Nubian Skin said: “The men have officially arrived at Nubian Skin! In our new collection ‘COCOA by NS’ we now offer men’s boxers in our four shades.”

The brand encouraged customers to treat someone for Valentine’s Day by sending “a different kind of nude”.

The men’s range features boxer briefs in shades Cafe au lait, Caramel, Cinnamon and Berry.

The COCOA by NS collection is described as “athleisure-inspired” pieces for everyday wear, lounging and low-impact sports.

The new range has been well received by fans of the innovative company.

One commented: “I didn’t even think men desired nude underwear but I’m always here for beautiful brown skin.”

Nubian Skin has continued to cater for its existing customer base through the COCOA by NS line.

A selection of women’s products – briefs and high-waisted boy shorts and biker shorts with logo waistbands, as well as bodysuits and bralettes – all in the aforementioned shades – complete the collection.

How it all began

Nubian Skin was founded in 2014 by entrepreneur Ade Hassan.

Hassan was inspired to start the brand after becoming frustrated by the lack of suitable skin-tone shade choices for black women within the hosiery and lingerie ranges.

Since its inception, the British brand’s products have been worn by the likes of model Leomie Anderson, American singer Lizzo, and even Beyoncé, for whom Nubian Skin provided the products on her Formation Tour.
