Judi Love wins Christmas Celebrity MasterChef

The comedian impressed judges with her Caribbean twist on a classic Christmas dinner

WINNER: Judi Love

COMEDIAN AND Loose Women star Judi Love has been crowned the winner of Celebrity MasterChef in a Christmas special of the show.

The festive-themed version of the cookery TV show saw Judi battle it out with ex-footballer Neil Ruddock, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Oti Mabuse, reality star Joey Essex, actress and comedian Su Pollard for the title of MasterChef Christmas 2021 champion.

Ms Love impressed judges with her Caribbean twist on a classic Christmas dinner.

The 41-year-old wowed the hosts with her turkey breast stuffed with traditional Jamaican jerk seasoning, parsnip puree, crispy roast potatoes, glazed carrots and cranberry and scotch bonnet chilli jam.

Judge Gregg Wallace described her meal as “nothing short of fantastic”.

Ms Love took to Instagram to celebrate the win, she wrote: “Winner, Champion of @MasterChefUK Christmas Special 201! All I can do is cook from my heart! The food I was raised up with. My parents were Jamaican born and they loved to show love with food. And that is what I did tonight!!! Thank you @greggwallace @johntorodecooks.”

This wasn’t the first time Ms Love wowed judges and viewers with her cooking skills, she appeared on MasterChef in 2020 and was the first celebrity contestant to make it through to the semi-finals.

Many are now calling for the popular TV personality to write a cook book.

Cooking duo Original Flava wrote on Instagram: “The cookbook mus reach! Proud of you sis.”

This Morning host Alison Hammond wrote: “It was always gonna be you, I’m ready for my cookbook.”

Chat show queen Trisha Goddard also congratulated Judi on the win and wrote on Instagram: “Well done! Amazing!”
