THE FUNERAL of Elianne Andam was held in south London over the weekend.

In September, the 15-year-old schoolgirl was fatally stabbed while on her way to school in Croydon.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with her murder.

Hundreds of mourners dressed in T-shirts bearing Elianne’s face attended the funeral at the New Life Christian Centre, in Croydon, on Saturday.

The moving service was also live streamed for the wider community.

Days before the funeral, Elianne’s relatives said the family are “broken” by the loss of the teenager – who wanted to become a lawyer.

Elianne’s aunts, Regina Boafo and Ruby Paintsil, told the BBC their niece will “forever remain in our hearts.”

Elianne wanted to become a lawyer to “defend … the voiceless”, Paintsil told the corporation.

“She doesn’t like injustice; she likes justice for people. Every time she’d get in trouble [it was] fighting for someone else.”

Elianne was on her way to school before being fatally stabbed at around 8.30 am on Wellesley Road, Croydon on 27 September.

Ambulance and police officers rushed to the incident within two minutes, but the schoolgirl died at the scene.

The 15-year-olds family and friends paid tribute to the young girl, calling her the “light of our lives” and described her as “beautiful” and “funny.”

In October, thousands of mourners including Stormzy gathered for a candlelit vigil in Croydon, London, at the scene where Elianne was stabbed to death

Relatives and community members at the vigil left cards, flowers and photos at the Croydon bus stop where the teenager was fatally attacked a week ago.

The savage, and violent death, and funeral in South London of Ms Elianne Andam, exposes the stark disparity from England’s African-heritage public profile people; who shout in opposition to “Braverman’s far- right leaning comments while in office.”

Whilst remaining mute regarding the increasing criminal delinquency amongst sections of His Majesty’s African, African-Caribbean, and African Dual-heritage youth.

How long will England’s African-heritage public profile, and Parliamentary men and women happily blame “right-wing” Caucasian people, and institutions for our youth’s shocking, and savage violence against their peers?

In yesterday’s Voice Newspaper, Professor Kehinde Andrews, a lecturer in ‘Black’ Studies at Birmingham City University, Ms Afua Hirsh, an author and broadcaster, Windrush campaigner Ms Jacqueline McKenzie, Brent MP Ms Dawn Butler, MP for Streatham Ms Bell Ribero-Addy, gleefully disparage “right-wing” Braverman, whilst ignoring Labour’s utter neglect of African-heritage youth delinquency; which is increasing in Labour Local Authorities in London, Birmingham, and Manchester, and other English towns, and cities.
