THE MAYOR of London is calling for a total ban on deadly ‘zombie’ knives.

Sadiq Khan is urging the government to bring in new laws that ban dangerous knives and machetes after years of government delays to the vital legislation.

The mayor has also written to the Home Secretary James Cleverly and is urging him to deliver on the government’s long-promised ban.

As the law currently stands, it is harder for a teenager to buy a lottery ticket than order a ‘zombie-knife’ online.

Khan said: “It is simply unacceptable that zombie-style knives and machetes are still on the streets of London and the UK eight years after Ministers first proposed banning the sale of the blades.

“We’ve repeatedly been promised action, but instead it’s harder for a teenager to buy a lottery ticket than a zombie knife while we’ve seen a merry-go-round of Home Secretaries failing to deliver.

“These unacceptable delays must end and I urge the Home Secretary to urgently bring forward and toughen up this legislation to finally end the scourge of these weapons on our streets.”

Violence

The mayor also added that he remains “committed” to tackling violence in the capital.

He added: “I’m committed to doing all I can to tackle violence and keep Londoners safe, and am proud of the progress that has been made thanks to City Hall’s record investment in the Met and London’s Violence Reduction Unit, but we need Ministers to use their powers to help us. I stand ready to work with Government as we build a safer London for everyone.”

Earlier this month, actor Idris Elba also shone a light on the urgent national issue of knife crime with his ‘Don’t Stop Your Future’ campaign.

And today he warned that there was no “one size fits all” approach to tackling the issue.

Speaking to the BBC he said while deterrents were important many young people – usually young men – carry knives because they are scared, because they have been stabbed themselves, or have seen someone else stabbed.

“He’s walking through a neighbourhood, and thinks I’m going to protect myself here – he ends up in jail for five years. You wonder, are we winning?” he said.

Key grassroots anti-knife campaigners like Faron Alex Paul, previously told The Voice, that teenagers are using social media platforms like Instagram, Tik Tok and Snapchat to purchase banned knives and other weapons disguised as everyday items.

If Voice Newspaper readers care to rid London’s youth from the surge of ‘Zombie’ knives; which impact London’s African-heritage youth specifically.

Then, London’s African-heritage voters, need to oppose Labour’s influential anti-Christian ethic, in London’s Labour controlled Local Authorities, and Labour’s deceitful “anti-racist” Local Elected Councillors.

London’s Labour-led Local Authorities, and Elected Councillors have contributed little to promote high youth culture, or youth discipline, or wholesome youth ethical, entrepreneurial, and sexual values.

Labour’s nihilistic Marxist creed, has been as fatally damaging to London’s African-heritage youth, as the awful ‘Zombie’ knives, and the surge of single parent families.

Ridding London of Zombie Knives, could be achieved by opposing London’s Labour-led Local Authorities, and Labour’s Local Elected Councillors: who have ignored, and reduced the quality of life for the poor, and African-heritage men, women, and youth, in London’s Labour controlled Local Authorities.

Let us remember, and honour the late Ms Camila Batmanghelidjh CBE, and the 1996 Kidz Company founder.

Kidz Company was persecuted into insolvency with Labour’s assistance in 2015; whilst unfounded slurs against Kidz Company founder were publicly repeated, shared and believed.

London’s 2015 increase in knife crime fatality amongst London’s African-heritage youth, mirrors the forced closure of Kid Company in 2015; after 19 years of assisting, befriending, and supporting London’s rejected, delinquent, and marginalised African-heritage youth-often from single parent households.
