MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry have publicly marked their son Archie’s first birthday by sharing a video as part of Save the Children’s coronavirus appeal.

In the video, the Duchess of Sussex reads, Duck! Rabbit! to her son as he sits on her lap.

The Duke of Sussex, who filmed the short clip which was published on Save the Children’s Instagram page, does not appear in the video but can be heard laughing behind the camera.

Archie, who Meghan calls “Arch” in the video, turns the pages of the boo, which is reportedly one of the toddler’s favourites, as the duchess reads the short story.

He also appears keen to read another book, which he picks up and then drops on the floor as the duchess tells him they will read that book afterwards.

“Thank you Duchess Meghan for helping us to raise urgent funds for our coronavirus appeal by reading Duck! Rabbit!,” Save the Children said.

Save the Children’s coronavirus emergency appeal is focused on protecting children in the world’s most deprived areas from the effects of COVID-19.

It is the charity’s biggest appeal in its 100-year history.

As part of the campaign, the charity has launched Save with Stories, enlisting celebrities to read children’s books while encouraging viewers to donate to help families hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak.

Jude Law, Dame Julie Walters and Nina Wadia are among those who have appeared as part of the campaign.

This morning, Kensington Palace wished Archie a “very happy first birthday” in a tweet alongside a picture from his christening.
