A TEENAGE boy who was stabbed to death in a “double murder” in Islington has been named by police.

Leonardo Reid, 15, lost his life on Thursday 29 June along with a 23-year old man who was also killed. The second fatality has not been named.

A 28-year old man was inflicted with stab wounds and remains in serious condition in a North London Hospital. However, his condition is understood not to be life threatening.

It is believed a group of people were filming a music video before things turned violent. Following reports of a stabbing, police and paramedics attended the scene on Elthorne Road where three people were stabbed.

Tragically, Leonardo was pronounced dead at the scene just after midnight and the second victim died in hospital.

On Saturday 1st July, a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with the double murder and remains in custody at a police station in North London.

Superintendent Jack May-Robinson said: “It saddens me to tell you that a boy and young man were fatally stabbed last night in Elthorne Road here in Islington.

“A third victim is in hospital with serious injuries that are thankfully not thought to be life threatening. We were called at just after 11.30 last night to reports of a stabbing and despite the efforts of our London Ambulance Service colleagues, a 15-year-old boy was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“A second victim, aged 23, had been taken to hospital where he also died from his injuries. The families of both victims have been notified and they continue to be supported by specialist officers. I ask that their privacy be respected as they try to come to terms with unimaginable loss.”

Anyone who has information has been urged to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference CAD 9383/29Jun.
