DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING the disappearance of man from south London have found a body in the boot of a car, police have said.

Justin Henry, 34, was last captured on CCTV footage in a Mercedes E Class at a McDonald’s drive-thru on London Road, Croydon on 15 October.

The father-of-one was last seen in person by his partner after visiting her at her address in Brixton on the night he vanished.

Police found a Red Nissan Almera car parked near Nicholas Court in Dale Road, Purley on the evening of Monday, 6 November.

Police say they treated the discovery of the vehicle as a crime scene and the body was found the next day.

Despite the ongoing missing person investigation, the body has not yet been formally identified.

Two men, aged 29 and 28, have been charged with Henry’s murder.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

The Henry family have been told about the latest development in the case.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “On Tuesday, we confirmed that a body was in the car and we spoke to Justin’s family later that day. We are waiting to formally confirm the identity of the body.”

Police believe Henry drove his silver Mercedes E Class to Waddon Road.

His vehicle would remain there for two-and-a-half hours before being discovered on 16 October in Kingswood Drive, Dulwich.

It remains unclear who drove the car to this location, but his family have maintained it was not him.

Just days earlier, police recently released images of “distinctive” jewellery Henry was last seen wearing, including a Rolex watch, three Cartier bracelets and a diamond ring.

Webb added: “My heart goes out to his family who have suffered weeks of anxiously waiting for news. Justin’s family are understandably very upset and we would ask the media to respect their privacy at this very difficult time.
