AT A recent campaign rally for Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden, Barack Obama has condemned the actions of US President Donald Trump.

Obama said Trump was “incapable of taking the job seriously.”

The former president also said that Trump wanted to take full credit for the strong economy he inherited from the Democrats, whilst also avoiding blame for the COVID pandemic.

He hasn’t showed any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself and his friends

He said: “Donald Trump isn’t suddenly going to protect all of us. He can’t even take the basic steps to protect himself.”

During his first in-person campaign stop for Biden, the former president also said: “America is a good and decent place, but we’ve just seen so much nonsense and noise that sometimes it’s hard to remember.

“I’m asking you to remember what this country can be. I’m asking you to believe in Joe’s ability and Kamala’s ability to lead this country out of these dark times.”

Historic decision

He said that voters decisions in the upcoming elections would be important for decades to come.

He also said: “I never thought Donald Trump would embrace my vision or continue my polices, but I did hope for the sake of the country, that he might show some interest in taking the job seriously.

“But it hasn’t happened. He hasn’t showed any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself and his friends.”

Donald Trump has since responded to Obama’s speech. He said Obama underestimated him in 2016, but he had won the election.

He added: “I think the only one, the only one more unhappy than crooked Hillary that night was Barack Hussein Obama.”

Obama’s speech has been described by CNN as “his most direct attack on Trump to date.”

The final presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is at 2am BST, Friday morning.
