New heights for Ethiopian Airlines as it introduces new route

The flights operating via Geneva will offer passengers from Manchester and the North a convenient service to Switzerland

ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES has increased its current three times a week operation out of Manchester effective from October 30 to 4 x weekly.  Flights will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

From this date all flights from Manchester will operate via Geneva allowing the airline to carry passengers on this sector.  Passengers flying across Ethiopian’s Africa network will remain on-board the aircraft before continuing onwards to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport where the flight connects to over 62 destinations across Africa.

The flights operating via Geneva will offer passengers from Manchester and the North a convenient service to Switzerland.  Ethiopian will be the only full-service carrier on the route with flights operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner featuring the award-winning economy and business class cabins.

The airline’s Country Manager UK, Michael Yohannes said: “We are excited to announce this new route development.  Whilst this new service will provide business and leisure travelers, including the traditional Winter Ski market, based in the region a convenient schedule it also underlines our commitment to provide further connectivity options into the African continent.”

We should all thank His Highness the Empire of Ethiopia Haile Selassie for having the vision and leadership to create Ethiopian Airlines, founded in December 30, 1945, by the Emperor, with assistance from TWA.

Ethiopian Airlines commenced operations on April 8, 1946, with a weekly service between Addis Ababa and Cairo; at a time when all other African Nations were firmly under the control of their European colonial administrators.
