ONE OF A FEW: David James

FORMER GOALKEEPER David James is the subject of an insightful documentary this weekend. Sky Sports has announced the launch of a new documentary, presented by football legend James, the only Black goalkeeper to represent a senior England national team.

Launching on the Sky Sports Premier League channel on Sunday 14 May, David James: The One and Only, will explore the past, present and future of representation in goalkeeping, drawing on stories of over 25 diverse goalkeepers across global men’s and women’s teams.

Audiences will also see exclusive interviews with star footballers including former Newcastle player, Shaka Hislop, Morocco’s World Cup semi-finalist, Yassine Bounou, and Tottenham and Jamaica star, Becky Spencer.

Mark Alford, Director of Sky Sports News, said: “David’s legacy as a footballer is hugely important, but his experience as a Black goalkeeper remains far too rare. Sky Sports is committed to using our platform to bring these diverse stories to life.

“We have a dedicated team in Sky Sports News helping to shine a light on the experiences of under-represented groups in sport. I am proud that the team are publishing this documentary alongside such an icon as David, as the industry collectively works to champion greater representation in sport.”

The documentary will premiere this Sunday 14th May, at 7:30pm

The Left-wing demand for “diversity” has reached ridiculous proportions; which if implemented, will be ruinous for the professional sport of Football.

Even African-heritage football players are blaming Caucasian Managers and Coaches for the choices of African-heritage football players; who do not desire to be goalkeepers.

The obvious reasons why most goalkeepers are of Caucasian European heritage is simple.

African-heritage footfall players prefer to play on the pitch, rather than as the goalkeeper.

    There is no mystery.

No need to accuse football Caucasian Managers and Coaches of skin-colour prejudice; discrimination or racism against African-heritage football players.

African, and African-Caribbean heritage football players do not wish to be goalkeepers.

African-heritage people need not seek to blame and accuse Caucasian Managers and Coaches of prejudice and skin-colour discrimination; when the clear answer to the disparity of goalkeepers of African-heritage, are all to do with the prefer and volition of African-heritage football players.

The guiding principle of sport needs to be merit alone; not the Politically Correct requirements for “diversity.”
