Loose Women’s all-Black panel hit with onslaught of racist comments

Loyal viewers of the daytime programme hit back at online trolls

ITV’S Loose Women presenters were faced with a barrage of racist comments on social media because they were an all-black panel.

The popular daytime show featured hosts news presenter Charlene White, singer and actress Brenda Edwards, comedienne Judi Love and actress Kéllé Bryan.

The quartet all wore blue outfits for the special episode dedicated to Brenda’s son, Jamal Edwards, who tragically passed away in February last year.

However, the fun-loving panel were hit with racist remarks on the broadcaster’s social media pages.

One Facebook user commented: “Who wants to watch blacks?”

While another Twitter user also chimed in writing: “Black loose women. NO THANKS !! Watching BBC now !”

While some viewers tuned in to watch the emotional episode, they struggled to see past an all black female line-up.

A social media user wrote on Twitter: “What is it with ITV, are they run by some Ofcom Diversity Group. Look at this racist garbage from “Loose Women” yesterday. What is this? I know it was a commemoration of a death, but 4 Black presenters, who all have big mouths too.”

Another disgruntled Twitter user posted: “@loosewomen i see you doing a show with an all black line up. How woke of you. I assume you will also be doing future shows with all asian panel? Maybe an all trans line up?  Would be a bit un-woke and racist if u didnt surely?”

It’s not the first time the all-black quartet have faced a racism uproar on social media.

They were all hit with a slew of racist remarks when they featured in a special episode to mark Black History Month in 2021.

However, the much-loved broadcasters went on to win the Best DayTime Programme at the Royal Television Society Awards in March 2021.

While many praised the historic presenting line-up after having majority white panels in its 22-year run on the commercial broadcaster, others took to criticise the move as “woke”.

A fan of show slammed the criticism, writing on social media: “Dude it’s been “all white” for 20 years. So get a grip on yourself.”

Loyal Loose Women viewers jumped to defend the panellists again from the latest onslaught. One user said: “There’s soooooooo many RACIST comments. I’m disgusted people need to get a grip. The ignorance is nasty.”

“I don’t get in either. This is a lovely sensitive show today. I love it that they are all wearing blue for Brenda’s son. Some people just want to hate,” another said.

One person added: “I thought today’s show was an amazing tribute to Jamal and it was touching seeing Brenda with her close friends around her. These comments are horrendous & hopefully not the voice of the majority of viewers.”

The hosts of the long-standing day time programme have not responded to the racist comments, but ahead of yesterday’s show, Charlene took to Twitter to express her thoughts on the special programme.

She posted: “Backstage at @loosewomen … This afternoon we’re dressed in blue, supporting Brenda, as she pays tribute to Jamal on the show – a year on from his death. Join us at 12.30 #Sisterhood.”

African-heritage Sir Lewis Hamilton MBE, is celebrated for his ability to drive at high speeds; in a high-performance vehicle, in concentric circles, at luxurious world-class stadiums.

For his driving abilities, Sir Lewis Hamilton receives a basic salary of £150m annually.

Naturally, his wealth allows Sir Lewis Hamilton to live a celebrity lifestyle; amongst other very wealthy people in southern France, and other locations.

I am not aware of Mr Hamilton using his wealth to create the political leadership; or a political lobby for His Majesty’s African-heritage Subjects, and therefore, I cannot understand why his sporting activities are reported in the Voice.

The absence of a political lobby specifically for His Majesty’s African, and African-Caribbean, and dual-heritage Subjects are the chief reasons why injustice and discrimination endured by African-heritage Subjects are ignored and marginalised by Parliament; the political parties and Local Authorities.

The absence of specific and dedicated political leadership for England’s African-heritage Subjects, and a political lobby, are the principal reasons His Majesty’s African, African-Caribbean, and Dual-heritage Subjects continue to be used and deceived by the Labour Party, and the political Left.

Unfortunately for us, racism in the UK is not going to disappear. What I find galling, is that fact that it has reared its ugly head very high above the parapet and in a way that is deemed acceptable by the broader society. It is now alright for all and sundry to say what they like about us and nothing is done to redress it. Social media enables the cowards that want to systematically vilify and oppress us, to have a voice, with the emphasis being on ‘freedom of speech’. However, if we talk up for ourselves, we’re told we have chips on our shoulders and it’s implied that we don’t know how “lucky” we are. Strange though, that they emulate us in so many ways and claim what is ours as their own. From fashion to music to artistic flair to our downright pride and sass: our knowledge of who we know ourselves to be. In this instance, imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery. It is theft. But most importantly, it is proof that we are bigger, better and far more powerful than any racist could ever fathom or comprehend.

To protect this all African-heritage Loose Women female panel, from Caucasian people’s incessant accusation of “racism,” whenever African-heritage men and women reveal the current and historical truth and consequences of Caucasian people’s skin-colour discrimination.

All African-heritage ethnic minority men and women need to collaborate with the political right in defence of England’s 900-year tradition for Free Critical speech: Debate and Discussion.

The Politically Correct censure, beloved and championed by Labour, and the political Left, hurts and restricts the African-heritage presenters on Loose Women, from openly communicating, on a range of subjects and issues, that impact directly on African-heritage men; women and youth: which cause Caucasian men and women to instantly accuse the African-heritage Presenters of being “racist” against historical actions and behaviour of Caucasian-heritage men and women.

To this day, I am hurt that the Rt Hon Diane Abbott MP, in 2012, was forced by the Caucasian-Jewish leader of the Labour Party to publicly apologise for quoting and referencing England’s historical act of using “Divide & Rule” as England’s chief weapon in securing an empire upon, which “the sun never sets.”

Most Left-wing Marxist inspired Caucasian men and women react defensively to criticism of their ethnic race and historical culture by accusing the African-heritage ethnic speakers of being “racist;” as exemplified by the way Ms Diane Abbott was treated by her Labour Party “colleagues” for revealing an uncomfortable fact of English Empire history.

The power and influence of the Left-wing Politically Correct censure is bad because it restricts England long tradition for Free Critical Speech: Debate and Discussion.

Political Correctness limits courteous open civil discussion.

The Politically Correct censure limits everyone’s ability to think; and freely engage in conversation, without either side claiming to have been “offended,” or “alarmed,” or “threatened” by the sometimes painful process of listening to minorities challenging the accepted perceptions majority Caucasian society has of minority African-heritage Subjects.

As a Left Wing Caucasian male, the person banging on about Political Correctness is talking nonsense. There is a certain element in the Labour Party who are racist and it’s not the Marxist ones. Take a closer look at the “thou shall speak no ill of Israel” mob. There are barely any true left wingers left in the Labour party, they are mostly right leaning centrists.

Also what’s with Black men like Kwasi Karteng and Shaun Bailey being comfortably friendly with racists like Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees Mogg? Unless they’re planning to bring the right wing racist institution crashing down from the inside, it baffles me why any Black person would associate themselves with a blatantly racist party like the tories.

I’m a 60 year old woman of colour and for all the years that I have lived I will never understand how anyone can dislike another human being because of the colour of their skin I am so deeply upset by this a show dedicated to Brenda’s son who passed so young instead of having empathy all these people could have is venom because 4 black women presented the show this is too sad absolutely shocking.

Just outraged once again by the total racist ignorance of certain people. Black history month a couple of years ago had a similar response .
Loose women for years have had just a all white panelist’s & I feel it’s great to see a more diverse team as we do live in a multicultural society where everyone suppose to be equals?
I’ve not actually seen any valid reason why another human being would have a problem with a all black panelist’s??? This is because there isn’t any reason for this , these people can only see colour before anything else. They refuse to see kind hearted individuals behind their skin colour. 😡 Unbelievable 😡
    This needs to stop

Black people pay for TV licence so, why can’t we presents shows with all black casts or presenters. We have been seeing white presenters for years. Our tv licence monies to be directed to our own stations. And we are told there is not any racism on the UK…please!!.

Racist racist racist. Do these inhuman people believe in KARMA obviously not or else they would not make such worthless and racist comments. They need to ask their grandparents what were the colour of the people who built this country back up after war. They need to know who built the NHS. They also need to know what their great great grand parents stole from Africa. There would be no western world if had not been for black people. So they need to keep their unnecessary and unwanted racist comments to themselves

Sadly if you never believed it existed in the UK today this is what racism looks like to black people everyday. We did not ask for villages in Africa to be plumaged and for our ancestors to be put in chains and brought to Europe and the Americas to be the backbone of todays democracy. We could also get on social media and bemoan what was done us as a nation. Instead we work 10 times harder to get where we are and no racist is going to prevent us from celebrating our success. To the panel of Loose Women I salute you for your bravery and dignity in the face of racial abuse keep representing we love you and want to see more of you ❤️

We are living in the 21st Century and racism is still alive and kicking just as vile as 200yrs ago but more subtle. The Equality Act 2010 is supposed to be legislation that protects us from racism and discrimination but in reality it’s not the case. Heavily entrenched colonialism has left a lasting legacy whereby the educational, political, financial, judiciary and healthcare systems in this country put those who are from a Black or different ethnicity at a serious disadvantage. Every day should not be a struggle nor a continuous fight for survival due to the colour of your skin. Centuries ago we were Kings and Queens leading peaceful lives but our history has been deliberately hidden, so there’s only a focus on teaching basics and the bare minimum to children at school. The media reinforces negative stereotypes which then leads to outrage when an all Black female panel appears on ITV. Absolutely ridiculous!! Why should that be shocking instead this should be the norm. I would advocate for an all Black panel every week!!!

Black people need always to be strong, mentally and physically. Always be at the top of your game.
Don’t ever for a moment think that you’re accepted in England, we are not. It’s survival mode every moment of the day for us. England is a very racist society, it always has been and always will be. England was built on the backs of African slaves, from the Textiles Industries in the North, to the huge extravagant Countryside Manors, and Shipping Ports up and down the country. Immersed yourselves into your Black history. Learn the truth. Even if you have to go the extra miles to find the Black history that is hidden away. Your local libraries won’t have all the other truths about our history. Find out about your history, learn about it and be proud. Don’t let the Racists beat you down. Be Proud.
