First Black British Golf Open deemed a huge success by all those involved

Founder of Black British Golfers, Ray Nyabola, told The Voice: “As we take stock of the magnitude of what just transpired in the past 24 hours, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude."

THE INAUGURAL Black British Open was deemed a huge success by all those that participated. The historic event, staged at The Shire in Barnet, saw junior players, professional players, amateur players and seniors all be coming out to play on September 11. They were aided by parents, supporters who all had a brilliant day

Founder of the Black British Golfers (BBG), Ray Nyabola, told The Voice: “As we take stock of the magnitude of what just transpired in the past 24 hours, can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude.

“To The R&A, The Black Heart Foundation, The PGA, Adidas Golf, Canon UK, Bunker Mentality, Adidas Golf, Black British Golf appreciates your support and thanks you for coming in on the ground floor of our journey.

“To The ACGA, The CGS, The M4 Fairways, The NUGA, The Comrades Society thank you for representing your respective societies in such stylish and classy fashion.

“To the parents who brought their kids to the event walked with them the entire course and sat through the proceedings, from the bottom of my hearts, I say ‘thank you’ for inspiring us to do and be better for your kids.

“To Cae, Ceri and The entire Shire team, thank you for hosting us and helping us execute on the ground. Special thanks to Darren and Martin, who really did go above and beyond.

    What a wonderful event this must have been! Great to see so many people of colour involved with this great sport. I would have loved to have taken part but missed it due to finding out too late, will ensure I’m registered next year.
    Looking forward to seeing the film when it comes out. Congratulations to all involved.
